Door Hardware Concierge Service

Expert, one-to-one help choosing door hardware for your home

Choosing door hardware involves much more than finding a handle or knob you like.

The right products depend on the doors themselves, how each door needs to function, the construction and preparation of the door, and whether there are details such as French doors, sliding doors, narrow stiles or existing holes to consider. Style, proportions, finish and architectural suitability matter too.

Through my Door Hardware Concierge Service, I review your project door by door and make considered recommendations for your particular home. You’ll work directly with me throughout the process.

Why door hardware requires careful thought

Door hardware is one of the most underestimated parts of a renovation or new build.

Different doors can require different functions, even when you want the hardware throughout the home to feel consistent. Seemingly small details, such as door thickness, stile width, existing preparation or the type of latch or lock required, can determine which products are appropriate and which will actually work.

It's also easy to order products that don't work together, don't fit the doors or don't feel right for the architecture of the home.

These problems are much easier to prevent before anything is ordered.

How I can help

I’ve spent nearly two decades helping homeowners and renovators choose door hardware. I’ve also renovated many homes myself, so I understand the decisions involved from both a technical and practical perspective.

I’ll review the information you provide, identify anything that needs closer consideration and recommend hardware that suits your doors, your home and the way each door needs to function.

You're not simply receiving a list of products. The schedule is the final record of the decisions I've carefully considered on your behalf.

What's included

  • A review of your project, door by door
  • Door hardware recommendations suited to the function and construction of each door
  • Consideration of style, finish, proportions and consistency throughout the home
  • Identification of missing information or technical details that need to be confirmed
  • A clear door-by-door hardware schedule showing the final selections

What you'll receive

You’ll receive a carefully prepared Door Hardware Schedule outlining the recommendations for each door in your project.

The schedule is designed to give you clarity before you order and can also be shared with your builder or installer.

Your service fee can be credited towards your hardware order
If you purchase your door hardware through The Renovation Shop and your order reaches the qualifying spend for your service level, your Concierge Service fee will be credited towards the hardware order.

This allows you to receive expert, door-by-door assistance before ordering, with the value of the service applied to your final purchase when the qualifying spend is reached.

Service options

The right service level depends on the number of doors and the complexity of your project.

If you haven’t completed the Door Hardware Quiz, I recommend starting there. It gives me an initial understanding of your project, including the number and types of doors involved and whether there are details that may need closer consideration.
